Love Works

Martyn Palmer Sunday Mirror, 1996-07-21

'Zoe Wanamaker is not your usual pin-up.  Her hair is often hacked, almost punk style, into toothbrush tufts, her nose is cutely upturned and her mouth pronounces syllables with a gravel-toned poshness.  She is more sexy pixie than screen goddess.  And yet when Zoe, classically-trained actress and darling of the theatre crowd, crossed over into mainstream TV to play alongside Adam Faith in the phenomenally successful Love Hurts, she was suddenly a bit of a prime-time poppet.  Fan mail poured in, and recognition in the nation's supermarkets swiftly followed.'
