A 69 Theatre Co. production of Shakespeare's play, performed at the University Theatre, Manchester (opened 3 September 1970).

Theseus/Oberon ... Brian Cox
Hippolyta/Titania ... Susan Carpenter
Helena ... Delia Lindsay
Hermia ... ZoŽ Wanamaker
Bottom ... Malcolm Rennie
Puck ... John Cording

Director: Braham Murray
Designer: Johanna Bryant

In 1970, after completing her studies at the Central School of Speech & Drama, ZoŽ decided to hone her acting skills by appearing in regional theatre.  She joined Manchester's 69 Theatre Company and made her professional stage debut in the Shakespearean comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The production's set resembled a shady glen, beneath masses of foliage.  Both Zoe (as Hermia) and Delia Lindsay (Helena) wore white dresses in the style of Ancient Greek gowns; other cast members performed in more modern dress, including sparkly costumes for the fairies.

A Midsummer Night's Dream was presented alongside another 69 Theatre Company production, Creditors, in which Zoe also appeared.
