Notes
In 1970, after completing her studies at the Central School of Speech & Drama, Zoë decided to hone her acting skills by appearing in regional theatre. She joined Manchester's 69 Theatre Company and made her professional stage debut in the Shakespearean comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The production's set resembled a shady glen, beneath masses of foliage. Both Zoe (as Hermia) and Delia Lindsay (Helena) wore white dresses in the style of Ancient Greek gowns; other cast members performed in more modern dress, including sparkly costumes for the fairies.
A Midsummer Night's Dream was presented alongside another 69 Theatre Company production, Creditors, in which Zoe also appeared.
