Sam Wanamaker Playhouse:
You can donate to the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, and find out more about this recreation of an indoor Jacobean theatre, on the Shakespeare's Globe website. ZoŽ, who is Honorary President of the Globe, talks about the history and significance of the project in a video by the theatre.

Current and upcoming projects:
  • Girlfriends (starts 3 January, 9pm, ITV1; also being streamed from 29 January on Acorn TV): ZoŽ stars as Gail, part of a trio of childhood friends rocked by tragedy in this six-part drama series.
  • The Birthday Party (9 January-14 April at the Harold Pinter Theatre, London): ZoŽ stars as Meg, who runs a seaside boarding house, in this West End revival of Pinter's dark, classic play.
  • Britannia (All episodes to be released on 18 January on Sky Atlantic and Now TV; also coming to Amazon Prime Video): ZoŽ stars as Queen Antedia, a key figure in the Celtic resistance movement, in this epic, nine-part historical drama series about the Roman invasion of ancient Britain.
  • Inside Number 9 (2018, BBC2): ZoŽ guest stars in an episode from this cult comedy-drama's fourth series.

News round-up: Olivier Awards, The Wild Party and visiting the Harpers...

13 March 2017 00:31

Olivier Award nomination for Elegy

Nick Payne's extraordinary Elegy, in which ZoŽ starred last spring as a woman with a debilitating neurological disorder, has been nominated for Best New Play at the 2017 Olivier Awards.

We'll find out whether the play, which was staged at the Donmar Warehouse, has been chosen as the winner on 9 April, when the prestigious awards ceremony takes place in London.

The Wild Party press night

ZoŽ was photographed attending The Wild Party's press night on 21 February (see the tenth picture in the gallery). She can also be glimpsed in the musical's press night video.

The Wild Party stars Frances Ruffelle as vaudeville showgirl Queenie and is the first show to be staged at Andrew Lloyd Webber's new London venue, The Other Palace.

Relive the Harpers' highlights

A talented fan called Karoline has been busy capturing some of My Family's most memorable moments for her new blog, Let's Visit the Harpers. There you'll find an ever expanding collection of gifs showing ZoŽ and her co-stars as the hilarious Harpers (one of my favourites is above), in addition to some of the long-running sitcom's funniest lines.

With eleven years' worth of My Family episodes at her disposal, Karoline will certainly be keeping us entertained with her blog for some time to come!
