Sam Wanamaker Playhouse:
You can donate to the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, and find out more about this recreation of an indoor Jacobean theatre, on the Shakespeare's Globe website. ZoŽ, who is Honorary President of the Globe, talks about the history and significance of the project in a video by the theatre.

Current and upcoming projects:
  • Babs (BBC One, 7 May at 8pm): ZoŽ portrays radical theatre director Joan Littlewood in this special, one-off drama celebrating national treasure Barbara Windsor.
  • Britannia (Sky 1 and Amazon Prime Video, 2017): ZoŽ stars as Antedia, a key figure in the Celtic resistance movement, in this major, ten-part historical drama series about the Roman invasion of ancient Britain.
  • Inside Number 9 (BBC Two, 2018): ZoŽ guest stars in an episode from this cult comedy-drama's fourth series.
  • Girlfriends (ITV, 2018): ZoŽ stars as Gail, part of a trio of childhood friends rocked by tragedy in this six-part drama series.
  • We can also look forward to a challenging piece for the theatre. More details about that as soon as they're available...

ZoŽ's husband to appear in Don Juan in Soho, alongside Doctor Who's David Tennant

17 November 2016 20:21

ZoŽ's husband, Gawn Grainger, will return to the stage next spring for Don Juan in Soho at the Wyndham's Theatre, London. The show, written and directed by Patrick Marber, is described on its official website as a 'savagely funny and filthy' tale about a seducer.

Gawn has been cast as Louis and Adrian Scarborough as Stan. The title role will be performed by David Tennant (who, of course, played the Doctor when ZoŽ so memorably reprised her role as villainous 'last human' Lady Cassandra in Doctor Who's 'New Earth'!).

The casting news has been widely reported in the theatrical press, with articles published by My Theatre Mates, Official London Theatre, Whatsonstage.com and other outlets.

Don Juan in Soho has been adapted from MoliŤre's tragicomedy, Don Juan, and is set in contemporary London. The production is due to run from 17 March to 10 June 2017. It's considered most suitable for theatregoers aged at least 16, due to the nature of the story.

With such a stellar cast, it's bound to be popular. I'd advise booking early, if possible.

Thanks to Vanessa and Karoline for their help.
